CLEAN CUT PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Clean Cut is a three-day project management course with heavier focus on managerial than
technical aspects of projects.
The programme has particular address to persons in charge of projects, leaders, key persons
and persons with special responsibilities. The purpose is to ”sharpen the saw” for present or
future project managers.
No. of participants: max 18 persons.
Price per person : EUR 2,700 excl. VAT
The inspiration is taken from LEGO and the danish special forces. The programme is based on
Preben Werther’s experience as a change agent and project manager and as a coach for top athletes,
as well as his experience as Commanding Officer Training in the Jaegercorps. Basically, it is about
understanding and evaluating the scope of a project or operation, and creating the physical
framework for it.
The course is organised as an organisation simulator with underlying work structure (phase
split and evaluation meetings) supported by simple graphical communication. To place all
participants on away ground and into learning mode, the subject of the problem will be beyond what
is normally perceived as project challenges.
Broad outline of the course.
The first day is about keeping project managers away from solutions, working solely with the
basis for solving the problem. This includes basis of ideas, values, ground rules, scenario input
(contents may not be developed until the external staff arrives), overall preliminary plans. On the
second day, the staff arrives. They know nothing of the organisation and what it takes for an
organisation to succeed. They are not used to being led and don’t just dress ranks. It takes real
leadership (motivation, ownership) to make the staff rise to the bait and solve the problem. The
third day is about extracting learning from the previous days and transforming it into rules which
are operational in a project organisation. Moreover, it is about identifying what works and what
doesn’t work, and consolidating the last phases in the pro-active planning model including action
plans.
